- Each AGUILA session is carefully designed to meet the requirements of a holistic approach in preparing each individual student for post-secondary education.
- Agendas are thematic and include speakers/presenters in various professions that connect education and experience to real life and the world of work.
- Every session includes activities that inspire students to think critically, to stretch their creativity and to discover themselves and the world around them.
- Each session provides key learning that promotes a stronger desire for educational attainment with more clarity and commitment.
- Each session provides a true sense of support from community and parents who interact with students and are engaged through the serving of nourishing meals and positive affirmation.
- Each session begins with a welcome from a local or visiting Latino/Latina Leader and ends with the traditional Mayan Circle that provides students with an opportunity to have honest and open dialogue with each other about the day’s experience and/or other issues they seek to address and wish to resolve among themselves.
